Catalogue of solo exhibition by Santiago Bose at Southern Cross University Art Museum in 1995. John Smith wrote, 'The work he (Bose) has produced at SCU is confronting both in its positioning with regards to content and with regards to more formal and aesthetic matters. Whilst in Lismore Santiago has led a team in the investigation of the use of various materials for making paper... The production of hand-made paper using available local materials has had a very specific political agenda for Santiago and the cultural groups he has worked with in the Philippines. As an installation and assemblage artist his approach is not unrelated to the contemporary notion of the artist as "bricoleur", however, his approach is one born of necessity in the Filipino context.' The catalogue includes Bose's biography, an imaginary conversation between Frida Kahlo and the artist.
