Published on the occasion of Rearranging Desires: Curating the 'Other' Within, an exhibition featuring works by four Montreal artists of Asian descent and Concordia University Faculty of Fine Arts alumni, Ayesha Hameed, Karen Tam, Chih-Chien Wang and Mary Sui Yee Wong. Guest curated by Alice Ming Wai Jim, the exhibition takes a critical and sometimes playful look at the issues around ethnicity and identity in a culture that struggles between impulses to 'accommodate' and a xenophobia resistance to change. An accompanying symposium 'Rearranging Desires: About Culturally-Specific Work' was held on 18 October 2008.

With essays by Alice Ming Wai Jim, Jamelie Hassan, and Anna Carastathis, Kirsty Robertson, Day's Lee, Cynthia Imogen Hammond, and Rebecca Duclos. Artists' pages include artist statements and biographies.
