This is the catalogue for the exhibition Serendipity which showcases specifically photography, video and experimental film of Asia. Twenty artists from eight Asian countries/cities are invited to participate. They work with a variety of image media and their subject matter in diverse. Dealing with a broad range of media art that has developed since the invention of photography within the overall framework of Asia, this exhibition creates the context for a better understanding of what the media artists of Asia are thinking at the turn of the century, the social conditions that they are exploring in their art, and the techniques they are using to express their ideas. Artist biographies are included.
