Described as an 'installation-on-paper' by Lee Ka-sing, Songs from the Acid-free Paper Box is a suite of sixty photographic images in sequence. The series is composed of fifty two photo paper test-strips from the 80s-90s archive of Ka-sing and Holly Lee's studio with eight new photographs taken of Kai Chan's sculptural objects.
The work was created on the occasion of '2K 4.0', the fourth collaborative exhibition in Toronto by Kai Chan and Lee Ka-sing. This book is a facsimile edition of the original work produced in book format, 12 x 12 inches, 106 pages, with a linen hardcover.
