Sheng Shanshan grew up in Shanghai during the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution. She was trained in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy during the 1970s, and went to America to study Western painting in 1982. The theory of Abstract Expressionism was a revelation to Sheng, and has continued to influence her artistic creation.
The present publication brings together her sculptural (in glass) and painted art works, together with information about commissioned pieces for public places over the world. Artist biography is included.
