The Saturday Group used to be an art group where accomplised Filipino artists held informal gatherings, and now becomes an organisation that needs upkeeping and funding. This book is about the long history of the Saturday Group, a heterogeneous band of artists and art lovers who are continuing a tradition that is unique in Philippine art history. An introduction by Migs Villanueva opened up the book and Alya Honasan, the author of this book continues to unveil the traditions, projects and activities (Saturday sketching, nude painting sessions, trips and backstories) held by the group. Texts are accompanied with photographs, sketches and press clippings. List of members can be found at the back.
