The Wicked Icon is one of two solo exhibitions organised by Ilmin Museum of Art on the subject of Korean culture and identity. Artist Kim Eun-jin is interested in representing the original nature of religion such as death, sacrifice, salvation and healing. She employs both Korean traditional motifs and Catholic icons in her paintings in an effort to modernize 'oriental' painting methods. Artist biography is provided at the back of the catalogue.
