This catalogue accompanies the group exhibition of the same title organized by Itabashi Art Museum, Tokyo in 1985.  'Tokyo Montparnasse' refers to the young artists village that flourished around Ikebukuro, Tokyo in 1930s and 1940s.  The exhibition put special emphasis on works influenced by Surrealism.  The catalogue includes plates of works, artists' biographies, and a list of works.
