The exhibition is a reconstruction of a previous exhibition in 1969 entitled 'Live in Your Head. When Attitudes Become Form: Works - Concepts - Processes - Situations - Information', curated by Harald Szeemann at the Kunsthalle Bern in 1969. The first half of the volume gives an photographic presentation of this exhibition, whereas the other half document the process of reconstructing the exhibition in 2013. The section contains a preface, a foreword, an introductory collective interview, and essays by scholars, theorists and curators.
In 1969 the Kunsthalle in Bern was occupied by young revolutionary artists exploring a new approach to art and architecture. Their styles are characterized by liberating and interactive processes, overcoming preconceived boundaries. The 1969 exhibition is entirely recreated in the ancient halls of the Venetian palazzo. This literal superposition of spaces will generate new and unexpected spatial and artistic relations at multiple levels, giving the possibility to re-experience the 1969 exhibition. The aim of the project is to explore the physical and conceptual horizons of visual language through the re-visitation of Post-Pop and Post-Minimalist Art research of the time, developed in the mid-1960s.
