Catalogue of solo exhibition by Xia Xing at Galerie Urs Meile, Beijing-Lucerne, Lucerne, Switzerland, February to March 2007. Xia Xing started his image chronicle in the year 2005 basing it on editions of Xin Jing Bao (New Beijing News) of the previous year. Choosing front page photos and transferring scenes into paintings, Xia Xing expresses a personal view as a painter and he questions thereby not only the topic of intermediation of information but the relationship of what happened and the observer - articulating his personal perspective.
