This is a collection of Yuan Jai's ink paintings and sculptures produced in 1995-1997. Essays on Yuan's art are also featured.
Kuangnan Huang suggests that Yuan's art not only emulates traditional Chinese ink paintings, but also provides new definitions on the tradition through her experimental touches. This notion is agreed by Victoria Lu that the seemingly traditional styles employed by Yuan represent a mechanical feeling that is omnipresent in the contemporary world.
