'Portraits & Vortexes' is an exhibition by Pakistan's leading contemporary miniaturists, Aisha Khalid and Imran Qureshi. 'Khalid's collection for this exhibition creates the optical illusion of depth and seductively entices the viewer in. Painting with vivid blue, blood red and camouflage greens, the hypnotizing repetition of her style appears almost like digitally generated imagery. But therein lies the mastery of the miniature technique. The work is mathematical and geometrical, yet it contains organic flow.' - extracted from the foreword. The present monograph published on the occasion of the above-mentioned exhibition also features Khalid's miniature albums. Artist biography is provided.
