Realism is Not the Only Path
Context

The Chinese art world began to re-examine the issue of Realism after cultural revolution. The discussion was even intensified by the emergence of Scar Art, Luo Zhongli’s Father, and Chen Danqing’s Tibet Series. Li Xianting's articles argue that Social Realism is not necessarily a true depiction of reality and that it should not be the only style to pursue in art.
