Published to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Chinese Arts Centre in Manchester, this book comprises interviews with 21 Chinese artists based in the United Kingdom. The interviews cover individual experiences of the artists, how they perceive their practice in relation to the UK art scene and the international art world, as well as how the recent interest in Chinese art has affected the artists' practices. To further investigate issues that arose from the interviews, two group discussions were held and are recorded in this book. The curator group discussion examines how British Chinese artists have been curated in the past, the current situation and looking into the future, whilst the artist group discussion brings together three artists who use food as the material or subject matter in their practice, and examines the reason behind their use of food and the connection to their cultural heritage. With forewords by Sarah Champion and Ying Kwok and an essay by David Hancock.
