From 1991 to 1995, Taipei Fine Arts Museum had a total of 16 installments in the series, Avant Garde and Experimentation. This series, which started from Space – 1991 organized by Space 2, received much attention from the media, audience and members of the art community in Taiwan. In this series many kinds of media, ranging from painting to found objects, are explored by the artists to express a diversity of concepts. This catalogue includes an article by Ruiren SHI, curator and art critic, notes on each exhibit and brief biographies of the participating artists, except for the artists from Space 2.
