This monograph is a compilation of selected writings by Wu Guanzhong, a Chinese artist, art educator and cultural critic. The writings, previously published between late 1970s and late 2000s, are divided into four sections, covering 'abstraction and form', 'tradition versus innovation', 'wall and bridge between the West and East', and 'a reflection on painting'. Over forty paintings by Wu selected by the artist himself are also included in the monograph.
