This is the catalogue of a joint exhibition of the artist-couple Xie Zhiliu and Chen Peiqiu at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. The catalogue is divided in to two volumes: volume one is on Xie Zhiliu's art and volume two is on Chen Peiqiu's art. 'The present exhibition comprises over 160 works including figure paintings, birds-and-flowers, landscapes and animals. These representative meticulous and fresstyle paintings reveal the artistic development of Xie Zhiliu and Chen Peiqiu. Though derived from tradition, their works are not restrained by it.
