The First Taiwan Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition presents works by over 50 Taiwanese artists, in hope to establish new boundaries for contemporary sculpture in Taiwan. Over the years, one has the impression that sculptures in Taiwan are limited to 'the style of Rodin with a touch of modernist flare'. As a result, the organizer wishes to make a breakthrough and showcase the diversity of contemporary Taiwanese sculptures through major exhibitions, lectures and seminars.
The catalogue includes brief introductions to each work, a foreword by the organiser, essays by Yi Chienyu and the curatorial team.
