' The idea for the show was originally inspired by the "Young Contemporaries" Exhibition in London during the 60's which proved so effective in the development of British art during the decade. Designed to provide an outlet and exposure to the many young talents beginning to surface in Malaysian art during the 70's, this exhibition should function as a catalyst and a showcase for those artists deserving to be better exposed to the public.' - Sulaiman Esa. Included is a preface by Wairah Marzuki, Director of National Art Gallery. Also included are artist's biographies. Details on the exhibition competition are provided at the back of catalogue.
