This monograph examines the work and career of Zainul Abedin (1914-1976), a pioneering artist who established the first art school in Dhaka in 1948. Part of a series of publications brought out by the partnership of Skira and the Bengal Foundation on Bangladesh's pioneering as well as contemporary masters and their contributions to the country's art history.
